Field Studies

Our Field Studies Programmes are tailored for those doing their University Degrees.

We generally take Social Work students, but we also cater for Psychology, Teaching, Communications and various others. Here, you will have a chance to work within your chosen Organisation as part of your studies and at the same time collect data/interview people for any assignments or bachelor thesis etc needed.

We assist you in the planning of your time here so it fits your studies and assignments.

The Field Studies students usually come in groups and stay between 4-10 weeks.

Of course, if you want to, you can also sign up to come on your own and/or for a longer or shorter period of time.

Homeless Adults and Children Outreach Programme

This project is run by one of our Directors, CJ, along with two other Directors. They currently run a Homeless Feeding Programme from a house - two meals daily. On Fridays they have a Community event called SoupSessions where they have music, food and a chance for the community to have real conversations with the homeless. They run a Children's Holiday Programme a few times a year, as well as assisting the homeless with job creation, mental health issues, and referrals to local rehabilitation centres.

Homeless Shelter for Men and Women

We partner with a group of Homeless Shelters around Cape Town. The Organisations provide temporary shelter, physical care, social welfare, and family re-unification services. They also serve meals, and offer various workshops and skills training. Interns will get the chance to work directly with the social workers and clients, and run workshops for various issues. Working within the homeless community for those who have not yet found a shelter is also a programme we offer - this is identifying reasons for homelessness and working with individuals. Assisting with the feeding programmes on a daily basis is also part of the project

Drugs and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centres
